As always, the food was presented to an exacting standard and the young staff were friendly, polite and attentive despite it being extremely busy. However, we plonked ourselves down at a table beside the window giving us a good view of the others in the vicinity – good tactic when trying to decide what to have for lunch. Sitting outside was rather tempting as the sun pouring in the large front windows did make the café rather warm when first entered. On a sunny Sunday, while a bit sweaty and very thirsty, my friend and I ventured into Doune village centre in search of somewhere for lunch and found the Buttercup Café.
